Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have a school provided iPad which I teach most of my lessons from. I love teaching from my iPad because I can annotate on the slides during the lessons. This keeps the students engaged and is especially helpful for literacy lessons when students need to be able to sound out each part of the word. When I can annotate on my iPad, I am able to help students break apart and find spelling patterns. However, I am currently using my fingers to annotate on the screen which can be difficult and often leads to mistakes.
With an Apple pencil, it will be much easier for me to draw and write on the screen to keep lessons engaging.
I also need extra pair of earphones for students whose headphones break during the year. Students use their iPads daily to access apps such as iReady, Lexia English, and Reading Counts. They need headphones with microphones for Lexia English (an app that helps students who are English Learners) which these headphones have.
