My Students

I teach half day Kindergarten, one class in the morning and another in the afternoon. My students are at school for a little over two hours a day. We learn a lot in the short amount of time we have together! We use every minute of the school day to learn new things.

My students love to come to school to learn and try new things.

They are excited to try new things and take risks when it comes to their learning. My students love doing hands on activities when learning something new or reviewing skills

My Project

I want my students to be engaged in their learning. I want them to love learning and look forward to working on Literacy, Math and Science. Students learn best when they are engaged and involved in learning.

I want to provide my students with experiences for them to engage in and love learning!

An engaging learning experience I hope to provide my students with is a sand table. Students will dig through the table in search of numbers or letters that we are learning about in class. They can also use play dough stamps and magnetic letters to spell their name and other words. I also plan to fill the table with a variety of different tactical materials to enhance their STEM exploration.

To engage in math learning I requested magnetic ten frames and counters. Students will be able to practice counting and number recognition at the beginning of the year, while also using the manipulative to support their learning of addition and subtraction later in the year.

I included resources to help engage students in writing, such as, colored dry erase markers, colored pencils and ink pads for alphabet stamps. I want to provide students with different mediums to use when writing. They can use the supplies to rainbow write their name or sight words. It is also a way to engage students when writing sentences and drawing diagrams.
