Our classroom is comprised of 8th grade students who hold a multitude of amazing qualities!
We are a tight knit, small school that embraces the idea of project/inquiry based learning infused with embracing the unique qualities each student offers.
Our 8th grade class creates projects based on the innate desire to learn and grow and know more about the various topics that interest them, while addressing the learning standards. We love to engage in field studies that support our learning and appreciate any and all support we can get on our journey. In addition, we also believe that a strong classroom starts with a strong community. We care about how we learn as much as what we learn! We learn and grow through social-emotional learning, growth mindset, academics, and community building.
My Project
Teachers are always looking for ways to capture students attention. One way that has proven to be effective and fun is ¨gamifying¨ the learning process.
With access to resources like ¨Wheel of Fortune¨ spinners, game buzzes and fun lights, lessons will come alive with action and engagements from the students.
Regular lessons and assessments that might put some students to sleep will transform into fun and interactive experiences.
A quality laptop allows students to create and edit movies, slideshows, music and much more. Allowing students to show their work in a variety of ways gives ownership and motivation to students.
