Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students come from an urban background where they aren’t offered a lot of opportunities that other students may have access to. They truly appreciate a teacher that shows that they care about them beyond just the classroom. It’s important to me that is how them how much the world has to offer.
Over the years, I’ve created great connections with students throughout the activities I provide for them and the choices I give them to explore.
With the materials requested, I know that I can give them even more and show them how there are different ways to grasp different mathematical concepts.
Showing them examples of real world situations always gets them to understand why learning is important. I play to use the materials to continue creating real life scenarios in my lessons and activities.
The Cricut machine will help me to create stencils, decorations, classroom charts, interactive games for the students to thrive off. The markers and white boards are materials I like to use to keep the students engaged in small groups as well as class learning activities that also help with the structure of the games. I like to create groups throughout the year that change weekly so everyone gets a chance to work with everyone. The organizers I’m asking for not only make transition easy, but also make things more organized. The laminator makes it easier to keep things like charts from ripping and can stay sturdy throughout the year. Everything I’m asking for is going to be more than helpful for our students.
