My students need an iPod Touch so that they can be engaged in history. It can also be used to watch recorded lessons and other educational material.

My Students
I teach Junior High students. These students are used to being entertained and being engaged. This IPod Touch will help do both. One of our themes this year is to "engage not enrage" our students. We are attempting to use technology to improve the effectiveness of our lessons.
A lot of my students do not have technology resources at home.
The Ipod will help them view lessons that I've recorded as well as clips that they might have missed in class. I will also be able to use the Ipod as an enrichment activity for my students who are struggling. My accelerated students will also benefit from the added rigor interactive lessons can provide. This Ipod will engage and add an extra dimension to my history lessons.
My Project
We have one iPod Touch that was funded through Donors Choose. My students love using it, but the only problem is I have between 22-28 students in every class. The Ipod will help bring history alive for my students. Even I can admit, history can be a little dull sometimes. The Ipod can help inspire my students to pursue history and find other methods of learning. My students also need this resource to fully benefit from my instruction. Many of my students fall behind when they miss instruction. With this new aide, they can catch up quickly and stay with the rest of the class.
My social studies class helps students with language arts.
By engaging them through this new resource, they will not only learn history, but improve reading skills and critical thinking skills. Help my students be engaged. Make history come alive!
