My Project

As a Business Education teacher, some topics can be difficult to keep students engaged. Financial literacy is a real-world subject that will not only assist students in the business environment, but will also help them to be successful in their personal endeavors. Therefore, it is critical for them to attend to and understand the material.

By utilizing Monopoly board games for instruction, our class will be able to learn essential business and life skills in a fun and engaging way!

The following financial literacy curriculum will be learned using the Monopoly board games:

-Budgeting

-Credit and Debt Paydown

-Cryptocurrency and Blockchain

-Investing

-Asset Evaluation

-Asset Performance

-Return on Investment

-Net Worth

-Digital Transactions

-Check writing

-Banking

-Cash flow tracking and maintaining a ledger

-Ledger / Checkbook balancing

-Flat and Progressive (Marginal / Graduated) taxes

-Tax optimization

-Completing a tax filing or tax return

-Insurance

-Risk management

-Investing strategy and portfolio management
