it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My Pre-K 3 students are absolutely amazing! I have the pleasure of working with students that are at risk and deal with outside pressures, and circumstances that are out of their control which can make learning a challenge. My students love to learn and I love teaching them what school is all about while fostering their love for learning.
Having activities that are printed in color allows for the students to really connect with the content that is being taught.
It really enhances each learning experience by bringing each lesson to life. A good quality printer and paper will allow for me to do the best job that I can do so that my students can reach their goals and fullest potential. Pre-K is a grade level that truly needs color because a lot of the time they do not have background knowledge on majority of the subjects and really benefit from being able to make realistic connections with the content. Social and emotional learning is a huge piece of our everyday learning. Modeling and having open conversations are just a few ways that we work together to build strong social and emotional awareness/intelligence. So, having the SEL items such as the lesson books, the stone colored emotion rocks, and the wooden conversation cubes will be a great asset to continue helping my students build a strong sense of self.
My goals for this project is to give my students what is truly needed for their academic success, which will be amazing to have at my fingertips. I am a firm believer that the classroom is a second teacher. So, it is so important to ensure that the learning environment is full of colorful information that my student can use to recall and connect with.
