This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am hoping to captivate 11th grade English students by teaching two diverse core texts, Interment, by Samira Ahmed and Dear America: Notes of An Undocumented Citizen.
There is nothing like getting lost in a book.
Together students will immerse themselves in a dystopian future and follow a young Muslim female protagonist as she attempts to survive and fight back. Together students will connect to and learn about the emotional and physical stress of living undocumented in America through an eloquent and passionate memoir.
