Engaging, Comfortable Community Space and Flexible Seating
My students need a large, multi-colored rug to accommodate all 26 students and two wobble chairs for flexible seating choices to enhance our learning environment.

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Every child is a different kind of flower, and altogether make this world a beautiful garden." This upcoming school year I have the pleasure of teaching an enthusiastic, inquisitive class of second-grade students. Our school, situated in Providence, Rhode Island, has culturally diverse students, English Language Learners, and students with special needs. The students in my class support each other as they learn, share ideas, and celebrate individual and class academic successes. I love when second-grade students get excited about learning, and some even cheer when I start teaching their favorite subject. Our school gives students many wonderful opportunities to develop their creativity, knowledge, and talents.
The students at our school are unique, caring learners who strive to show respect, responsibility, achievement, and safety.
Watching my students' skills, confidence, and interests grow each day is such a joy!
My Project
With your generosity and support, this colorful rug will make our community space more inviting, as students use this space to listen to stories, read independently, complete partner work, and play games. The rug we currently have in our classroom is worn from continuous use, and my students would appreciate a new one. The wobble chairs will allow my second-grade students to stay focused and learn while getting the movement they need to help them stay engaged in independent, partner, and group activities. Children need to move, and the wobble chairs make learning fun. My students feel empowered when they are given choices, especially when they get to decide where they can sit to work for reading, writing, and math.
I believe that giving students a choice of where they are most comfortable working leads to a higher level of engagement and motivation.
The colorful rug and wobble chairs will make a difference in helping my students choose seating options that will help them concentrate and stay focused while learning, playing, collaborating, and communicating. Students learn best in a welcoming, student-centered environment. Thank you.
