My kindergarten students enthusiastically want to assert their independence through engaging literacy, math, and writing centers.
My students will be able to drive their curiosity and become passionate life long learners as they thoughtfully work through the center activities. They can incorporate their new knowledge into amazing project based learning units! They will be thrilled to share what they've learned with their peers, families and community when they visit and volunteer in our class.
Our school is a unique and diverse school, where students want to learn and grow. We have transformed our school into a project based learning environment where our students have opportunities to explore, question, and dive into topics that matter to them.
Project based learning provides the students with hands on, real world connections that they may use to drive their own student-led, collaborative projects. Engaging centers let students choose their work. We have an 84% free and reduced lunch population and a 30% ELL population. Our students need learning experiences that help them make connections to learning beyond the classroom.
My Project
Centers are essential to my kindergarten classroom. The "Early Math Instant Learning Centers" and the "Learning Letters Activity Centers" are some great ready made centers. These centers will provide the opportunity for my students to practice independent thinking and problem solving while I work with small groups to meet students needs at their level. My students will also have a chance to develop their writing skills with the "Ready to Write! Prompt Box" and the "Leveled Sight-Word Practice Cards". These centers provide structured support for the kindergarten learner. With your help, I will be able to reach each of my students individual needs.
