This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My classroom library has Third and Second grade leveled texts. However, I have students who are reading at a First grade level and I have very few books that are just right for them. These students are making progress in small group with guided reading books, but it would be amazing for them to have several options for independent and home reading.
When these students see they have books that they can decode they will become more engaged in reading.
They can also borrow these books and show their families they can read.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
