My Students

My students are 4 and 5-year-old children who all have the desire and ability to be anyone and do anything if they are just given the opportunity, encouragement, and tools!

Our class is made up of students from many backgrounds within the community.

They come in every day ready to see what new things they are going to learn about today. Pre-k is such a special grade, where a child has their first experience with school. I want to be the kind of teacher who provides excitement and inspiration for my students to carry on throughout the years.

My Project

The Cricut machine is a teacher essential when it comes to making sure each child has access to touch, hold, and manipulate letters, numbers, and shapes. The die-cut allows us to cut out several letters or shapes at one time. We can then give these shapes or letters to the students to arrange and practice making words, sorting shapes, and practice recognizing their name.

This type of learning engagement is essential during these times when children are at home learning for the majority of the week.

Our students began the year learning at home and will continue to learn at home several days a week. Having access to letters, numbers, and shapes that they can hold, manipulate, and arrange is going to be vital to their learning. This machine and the cutouts will allow us to send home individual bags full of all of the learning resources each child will need to begin their year successfully.
