Engaging All Learners Through Osmo!

My students need 4 Osmo Genius sets to use with our iPads as a center to reinforce concepts learned in first grade.

My Students

My first grade class consists of 24 students with a wide range of academic abilities. I have several students with special needs as well as those that qualify as gifted. We celebrate each students abilities and teach kindness and collaboration in our classroom.

SV STEM Academy is dedicated to making computer science education an integral part of our students’ daily experience.

We feel that the use of technology in our primary classrooms prepares our students for the skills they will need in the 21st century and beyond. We have 6 ipads in our class and we are looking for a creative way to integrate technology and encourage critical thinking and problem solving.

My Project

The lessons from Osmo will provide our first-grade students with a solid foundation in the field of Computer Science and hopefully spark an interest that will lead them to future computer science opportunities. Students will begin to see themselves as active participants in the digital community who are more than tech consumers, but are tech creators.

Through their spelling and math games, Osmo will help my students reinforce concepts taught in Math and Language Arts using engaging technology.

We would have access to lessons that will benefit our students across a wide variety of curricular areas. Their lessons in Coding and Engineering would also be a benefit to my students at our STEM school.
