My Students

My students are an amazing group of diverse, energetic first graders! They love to learn by exploration and engagement. They walk into class each day, eager to find out what the day entails! I feel so blessed to be their teacher! They make me smile every day and inspire me to be the best person that I can be!

My first graders represent 21st century learners that are continually engaged and ready for discovery!

First grade is a critical time to learn reading and math concepts that will build success in future years. As a teacher, I utilize various teaching techniques to accommodate the many learning styles of my students. I incorporate Responsive Classroom and Growth Mindset concepts to help each child succeed. We have a warm classroom environment where all students are respected for their individuality.

My Project

I am asking for 3 OSMO Genius Kits for our 1st-grade classroom. OSMO incorporates a fun, engaging way to practice math, and reading skills. It also introduces them to coding concepts at their level. OSMO is more than a game, it is a learning tool. It includes manipulative game pieces such as number tiles, letter tiles, and coding blocks. Students can use collaboration skills to work together or work independently towards mastery.

My students will use the OSMO Genius kits during Daily 3 math and Daily 5 literacy centers, as well as during science time.

OSMO fosters learning in key areas such as creative problem solving, art, STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) and common core. These OSMO kits will enhance our Daily 5 literacy block and our Daily 3 math centers.
