This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Math is a very challenging subject that can be made fun with well planned engaging activities. Engagement can only go so far unless we can provide them with the tools and resources to make it possible.

Allowing my student year round access to dry erase markers and erasers can dramatically improve engagement in my class.

The chance to be able to show their thinking in a large scale and share their process with teacher and fellow students will boost their confidence and improve their ability to verbalize their thinking. Dry erase writings are also easy to erase proving to the students that mistakes are not a big deal, mistakes are vital part of the process of learning.

Access to pre sharpened pencils and erasers lessens the stress of being unable or be delayed to complete a task. With your support, my students can now fully focus their attention on learning and not on what resource they are lacking.

And lastly, presenting them a clean, well-organized and pleasant classroom to enter every day will give them a welcoming and positive feel every time they come to our class. A well maintained classroom helps set the tone of the day.
