My Students
Every morning, I walk into my classroom, and I know that my day will be filled with 27 amazing kindergartners. These students have an extreme amount of love for learning that I have never seen before! They love reading, writing, and doing math.
My school is located in the heart of a great neighborhood in Philadelphia.
We are a Title I public school that lacks the funding and the necessary resources, but we make do with what we do have.
My students have the desire to acquire knowledge and be engaged in the learning process. My goal is to support this intrinsic motivation with hands-on opportunities.
My Project
In my classroom, I teach reading and writing workshop daily. It is difficult to model drawing, writing, and reading to my students without a document camera. The document camera will make a huge difference in my students' learning because they will be able to see me model my drawing and writing. Students learn best when students see adults doing.
The soft seat ottomans will give my students alternative seating.
My students love using wobble stools and yoga balls. They will be comforted when they sit on these ottomans because they are soft. They will make my students feel like they are at home.
