Engagement and Learning Through a Flexible Environment!
My students need balance balls, wobble chairs, and wobble cushions so they can increase their engagement and focus which increases their ability to learn.
My students are enthusiastic, exuberant, and energetic. They are amazing children who come to school ready to learn as much as they can every day! The children love whenever they can get out their seats and move around the classroom. They enjoy hands-on activities and working in groups.
I have a unique class where many of them struggle to stay engaged while trying their hardest to sit still and stay focusing in a hard, uncomfortable chair.
They often get fidgety and restless and this distracts them from learning. I am looking forward to incorporate flexible seating options so they can be comfortable and focused while learning. Student engagement is the key to their academic success and I know flexible seating will help them find success.
My Project
I am asking for balance balls, wobble chairs, and wobble cushions. Having flexible seating in my classroom will make it feel more like a home than an institution. I look forward to providing a learning environment where students are eager and excited to come learn each and every day.
By adding these seating options into the classroom students will be able to make choices in their learning environment.
I feel if the students are comfortable and engaged, so much learning and exploration can take place.
One of my goals as a teacher is to provide the safest and most welcoming environment for my students. I believe this flexible seating option is going to give my students just that. I feel there are so many benefits by incorporating flexible seating into my classroom. Some of these benefits are: students feeling they have a choice, it gives them more opportunities for collaboration, provides a deeper sense of community, students are able to move around as needed, it provides a more natural and comfortable way to sit, and supports sensory input.
