This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach a wonderful, gifted class of amazing second grade students in an K- 8 center IB Magnet school located in Miami-Dade County. My students are all about why, how, where and when. They are truly an engaged group of students. Unfortunately, without monetary support, the students and I will be left without a working laptop. My students thrive on learning and technology, and they are truly eager to learn. They are constantly asking questions, so I turn to technology as much as possible for an additional engagement since not all homes have these resources.
My Project
By donating to my class project, you will assist my students in being able to engage in reading and listen to digital books, access the online materials that correlate with our reading curriculum, interact with learning games and applications and practice their typing skills.
The MacBook Air will also assist my students in researching their STEM questions, see what solutions already exist, and then present and share their projects and models.
We will also use this new technology for virtual field trips to places we would otherwise never be able to see and to interview experts in the field via video conference.
