it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from a variety of cultures, low income families and hard working middle class families, which therefore results with plenty of hardships for them on a daily basis. This being said though, they are incredibly resilient. They are dedicated students with wonderful attitudes, despite their disadvantages. The struggles they overcome are more than many adults can handle, but they do so with a smile on their face.
My Project
As we prepare to get back to in person learning, I have been doing a lot of research and reflecting on what works to engage students to make up for a lot of learning loss during the pandemic. Of course there will be challenges and things will look different; however, I am determined to make it as smooth as possible. One thing that will definitely be different is students as well as myself will be wearing masks. This can make it difficult to be heard and understood. My solution to help students both speak up and be engaged is through games!
In doing research, I found a throwable mic and thought what a game changer this would be in all subject matters!
A few years ago, I had a student that was hard of hearing and I was given a voice amplification system and it was wonderful for everyone in the classroom! My students seemed to focus more, it saved my voice, and the students all loved talking into it. Unfortunately, after the student went on to the next grade, so did the microphone and speaker.
I love how this particular speaker is easy to clean and engaging it is for the kids and their voices will be heard!
