My students need hands on manipulatives to help them better understand content taught and to keep them engaged!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Small's classroom raised $430
This project is fully funded
My Students
I teach Second Grade Special Education. My students are very hard working and have a love for learning. In most classroom settings but especially Special Education, students learn best using hands on materials and lots of visuals. My students are fully engaged when they are able to use these kind of materials. After lessons we are able to do a lot of work in centers. They love when they are able to pick the materials that will help them learn best and they always have fun while doing so!
"Tell me and I forget.
Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." - Benjamin Franklin
This is my first year teaching. It has been amazing so far. This has always been my dream and it makes me so excited to see it finally becoming a reality. With that being said, I bought a lot for my classroom. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to purchase everything I want to make my students as successful as they can be.
My Project
My students are SO hard working. They always try their best and even encourage each other while learning. The use of hands on math and reading manipulative will help my students better understand what they are learning. I have seen first hand as soon as my students have their hands on something like a clock or base ten blocks it automatically clicks with them. We also need bins and drawers that will help keep these materials organized and easily accessible to everyone who uses them.
Through this project I know my students will be more successful, and engaged .
