This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I will teach a young, diverse group of second graders this fall! My students will be experiencing some challenges as we haven't entered our school since March! My students are resilient and I know they will come excited to see their friends and teachers again.

My classroom is about building skills to work together as a class.

The work we do in this classroom is building relationships and learning in Spanish! My students will be eager to engage either online or in person this fall.

My Project

After a very unique year of changes and unexpected challenges we are finally back in the classroom! "IT FEELS SO GOOD!"one of my student shared with me the first day back. Being that this is my first year teaching I am finally starting to see what my students can do in person! I am learning what they like to use best and what tools are going to be helpful for them in the classroom. For example, I included some laminating sheets so that we can reuse some math worksheets. I also included magnetic manipulatives so that students can work with these during independent practice. These items will help me finish the year off strong by providing the resources that students need and will help me start off the year strong next year when students are in the classroom full-time!
