Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This year's class is a group of amazing sixth graders. I have been blown away by them because of how fun, respectful and considerate they are. I am also impressed by this group because of how this group perseveres. Many of the students have encountered many tragedies and I am so impressed with their ability to come to school with a smile on their face and an eagerness to be apart the the class family. I cannot wait to see them grow and prosper in their years to come.
My Project
My students use whiteboard markers on a daily basis in my class. We do checks for understanding, games, and small group learning on them. Whiteboards are engaging for students and allow them to make mistakes and quickly erase without feeling they have to start over. They also allow for fun games that helps engage them in the content and also collaborate to learn from each other.
The whiteboard markers and the exercise balls and stools are great tools that help students engage.
The exercise balls and stools are very helpful as a classroom management technique because they are fun and students want to earn to sit on them. This helps focus the learners and allow everyone to focus on learning. The stools are also great because they allow the students to move around and fidget in different ways that is less distracting to others.
