My Students

For my students, school is a safe haven - a place where they come to learn, grow, explore, make friends, be respected, and feel loved. As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

I want my students to remember our school as a warm and welcoming place where they discovered a love of learning.

My job is to provide them with the very best education possible. It can be hard to provide my students with the type of experiences other schools are able to provide due to lack of funding and parent involvement. I refuse to let hurdles get in the way of my students' achievement and growth. I will do whatever I can to provide them with every possible opportunity and that is why I signed up with DonorsChoose.org!

My Project

These books will be added to my classroom library. These books are leveled, so kids can enjoy stories at their reading level. Students choose books to read independently.

I picked these particular books because students can engage with these high interest stories easily.

I model these books with a read aloud. Students then get motivated and want to read more stories by the same author.

I want to make sure I have enough high interest books in my classroom library for all students. The purpose is for all students to find a book that they enjoy and read it.
