Remember the monotonous worksheet, blackboard classroom routine when you were in school? Allow the children of today to experience learning in a new light. With this project, I want to engage my students through technology and energy.
My classroom consists of a diverse group of learners with various learning styles. These second graders are active, social, expressive, and curious.
Many of them are in single parent homes as one or both parents are deployed.
In this rural area, many homes are not equipped with computers or other forms of technology. My goal as a teacher is to educate students in the 21st century. I want to better prepare my students with knowledge to help them be successful in college and in the working world. However, with recent budget cuts, there is no money available for quality, hands-on teaching.
My Project
The Promethean ActivBoard 164, will provide a unique touch experience as students navigate through text to gather information for research projects. This method of note taking and researching will encourage even the most reluctant of my writers to produce quality products of learning which can easily be displayed and shared for all with the Promethean ActivBoard 164. This will also allow my students to see energy and how it works. We will be able to play interactive games and have the students up and moving about and not sitting in their seats all day long. The can create projects about energy and be able to display their creations on this interactive board.
Can't you just hear the "ooh" and "aah" now?
Just imagine my students in their science centers creating different forms of energy and documenting it, so that the world can see this young and inspiring group of students. Students will be able to gain global awareness on such a larger scale! These children will be thinking about science in their lives today and also in their future if we can fund this project. Donations to this project are appreciated. Please help me bring the world to my students!
