Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

There are not enough words to describe my PK students. They come to me from different, diverse homes. However, as soon as they walk into my classroom, we one and together in our learning process.

My students are full of energy.

They are innocent, inquisitive, and ready to learn with music!

I would like to provide my students with a well rounded education with fun and innovative resources and materials. This is why I am requesting funds to purchase a Bluetooth speaker among other materials. Please help my students live out this dream and assist me in every way!

My Project

A Bluetooth speaker will enable me to take music with my students and I everywhere we go. That may be outside during recess, during restroom breaks, in the Action Based Lab, while writing in the classroom etc. Why is music important? Music participation provides a unique opportunity for literacy preparation. Whether my students are singing, playing, or listening, I can direct them to listen and hear in new ways which exercises their aural discrimination. Adding movement to the lessons teaches children about sequential learning which is essential in reading comprehension.

Plato once said that music “is a more potent instrument than any other for education”.

You will find many teachers of young children who would agree with him. Recent research has found that music uses both sides of the brain, a fact that makes it valuable in all areas of development. Music affects the growth of my pre-k students' brain academically, emotionally, physically and spiritually.

In order to see growth and improvement in my students, a variety of games, puzzles, dramatic center themed materials and role playing tools will help my student receive different opportunities to experience learning.
