Energetic Students Seeking Recess Equipment for Recess FUN!

My students need recess equipment, including soccer balls, footballs and basketballs to help keep them active and playing together!

I believe all children have the ability to be leaders.

In my classroom students are encouraged to explore their gifts and talents through projects and hands-on activities. My students are in 4th grade and fabulous! They are strong and independent and eager to be at school. Most of my students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds with very little to call their own. I teach English Language Learners, with many of them knowing little to no English, but come to me everyday with a smile! My school is a Title 1 school located in a suburb of Charleston, SC. It is a school that has been around for 25+ years and struggles with meeting the needs of teachers and students due to budget cuts. We may not have all the latest technology and a shiny/fancy school.. but we have HUGE hearts and our #1 priority comes down to meeting the needs of ALL of our students.

My Project

My students will use the sports equipment on a daily basis! So many of my students will benefit from the teamwork skills associated with team sports at recess! Right now, many of them walk or stand around due to lack of equipment. If I was able to get them some balls to play with, they would be able to run and play and get their energy out! This will allow better concentration when we are in the classroom!

Sports equipment will not only make a difference in their social interactions with each other - teaching teamwork and how to win/lose..

but it will also help with health! So many of my students don't get any time to be active and play due to busy lifestyles!
