Help me give my students a way to make unique creations with these Makey Makey Kits. Students connect everyday objects to computer programs. The possibilities are endless with their imagination.
Our students come from different backgrounds and attend a Title I school district in Eastern Connecticut. Over 70% students in our school district are eligible for free or reduced lunch. Components of students' lives often leads to high absenteeism. As middle school students, they are full of energy and curiosity when encountering a topic or activity of high interest.
It is critical that students maintain engagement in their learning as they often struggle with balancing so many other distracting factors than school.
My goal for each year is to create student engagement opportunities in the our library program and to help foster excitement about school each day by engaging them in meaningful learning experiences.
My Project
Students love the opportunity to create and design projects with Makey Makey kits. These kits will be used to create educational games, explore the concept of open and closed circuits and design interactive "light up" poster that highlight map features.
But more makey makey kits will allow students to collaborate to create larger projects or create more opportunities to learn from each other as they go through the learning process of closed and open circuits.
The possibilities are endless with our students and future interdisciplinary projects throughout our school building.
