My Project

I am a Reading Interventionist at Bayshore Elementary. I support students in 4th and 5th grade during their reading instruction. Bayshore is one of the original schools in our county and with that comes some challenges. Our furniture is old and scarce. We are also a Title 1 school with limited classroom resources. The dictionaries students have access to in class are outdated.

My students need new dictionaries in their classrooms that will help them build their vocabulary knowledge.

Students need to learn how to use a dictionary to determine the meaning of academic vocabulary. Could they google it? Yes, but they is no comparison to having a paperback dictionary in students hands.
