This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students will complete a worksheet about Cameroon and watch a short video learning about Cameroon to start this project using art to connect with kindness.I will have a new bunch of sixth grade students the last quarter of this year and what better introduction to art than have them create drawings on puzzles for orphans in Cameroon.
By drawing colorful puzzle portraits students will learn about community service, Cameroon and how the orphans live during this time of conflict in their country.
My students will learn about creating a good design for a puzzle as well and learn about color and shapes and how puzzles are made.
Each student will get an email with a photograph of the orphan they are making a puzzle for with their favorite color and their name. This will be the third country this year we have made drawings for with The Memory Project and students learn so much about the world and art at the same time.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
