My students need a selection of 15 books to support an upcoming research project on Endangered Animals.

My Students
Every penny matters, that is what my students argued with me during a recent debate article in our Time for Kids magazine. They began to collect pocket change to prove the value of every penny and they have exceeded my wildest expectations. Now it is time to make a change with our change!
My students are a diverse group of urban 3rd graders.
They are brilliant, enthusiastic, energetic, and inspiring. They attend a public school specifically designed to meet their learning needs. In class, we work hard to reach new limits and explore new subject areas.
My Project
The students collected money to donate to the World Wildlife Federation. I have a good friend that works there and he will be helping us to learn more about the organizations work and mission. The students will be researching endangered animals around the world and presenting their information to the class in an effort to select an animal for our "adoption" and donation. The books selected for this project will be used to help my kids develop background knowledge in the subject area, research specific animals, and explore environmentalism.
The past, present, and future of our planet is important to children today.
My goal as a teacher is not just to teach my students facts, but also to empower them to make a difference in their world.
