My Students

My second graders come from all over the world. They each bring their own unique talents and experiences to the classroom and are incredibly excited about learning.

They are full of energy and enthusiasm and are beginning to come together to support one another!

They are passionate and love learning! As we read stories, they are constantly examining the illustrations and making observations that they are eager to share with one another. They are always asking questions, wondering why things work the way they do, or how things come about. They love working together with one another and encouraging each other to become leaders!

My Project

Approaching the end of the school year we know that our students have worked hard to improve their reading levels, and develop new skills to prepare them for third grade! With this being said our students could use new materials and resources to keep them engaged, and continuously learning to get them ready for next school year!

All of our students have worked hard this year, but are still working on a wide range of skills.

These materials will help to meet students where they are at and make the final push to get them prepared for next school year! Having spent a whole year with my students I know what books, games and videos they find engaging!

The books, games and videos were selected with their interests, and their academic levels in mind. Some of my students still need support practicing basic math facts and are still reading on low levels, needing support with decoding. While other learners have met and surpassed grade level reading material and are ready to build their stamina through chapter books. Having movies such as Ferdinand, and Sing will allow my leaders to continue practicing skills such as compare and contrast, and problem and solution while being engaged!
