Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
All of the students in my class are identified with special needs. Some have social delays; some physical limitations; and all communication concerns. The one thing they have in common is that they’re all incredible mini human beings. They love music and dancing, stories, and experiencing a developmentally appropriate learning environment.
COVID-19 rocked our world and these kids who had a little bit of a late start already now had to learn a new way of life.
I’d like to support them by having educational tools that are safe and promote socialization while protecting them at the same time.
My Project
As we begin to come towards the end of the school year, I am looking for a few more activities to provide in the classroom to keep things fresh and exciting as well as activities to extend learning to the home. Children learning from home will be more supported going into the summer months with activities created to keep the skills that they've learned fresh. All of the materials requested will help me create more experiences that can extend learning through the summer and help the children be better prepared for entry to Kindergarten. The summer activities will be focused on the exploration of the environments around them building natural curiosity and strengthening knowledge.
