My Students
I teach an amazing group of students in the promise zone of the West Philadelphia area. I'm so privileged to teach a mixture of students. I teach students who have learning disabilities who are just learning how to read as well as gifted students who all love to read. I love their enthusiasm when it's time to read and listening to the conversations that they have while reading. They also love being hands-on and being able to conduct different science experience and play math games. The joy that comes from watching one of your struggling students pick up on something and being involved is always a plus. They are a very talented bunch and are rising to the academic challenges that I place before them every day, as well as demonstrating their talents in other extracurricular activities such as art, music, and dance. They have worked really hard everyday and have overcome a lot over the last two years.
My Project
Every year we like to end the school year with a 5th grade dance. Due to Covid-19 we won't be able to host such an event. This year we decided to host a fun day carnival for our 5th grade class. They will be leaving our elementary school and we want to send them off with a bang. These items will help us put together something special and give prizes to everyone. Our students deserve to come together, play games safely outside, enjoy some music before they leave for the summer. The items were selected by the students these are things that they expressed that they liked as well as what they would like to win during the different competitions.
