This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is one of the largest Title I public schools in New York City located in Elmhurst, Queens. Our families are deeply impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, my remote Kindergarten class is comprised of both general and special education students. It's been such a challenge for my students to learn at home with limited resources and school supplies they currently have.

I hope to help my Kindergarten students celebrate their year-long hard work of remote learning with exciting certificates and books to read over the summer.

The time that I have with my Kindergarten students is very precious since it is where most of their learning takes place!

My Project

My remote Kindergarten students have worked so hard throughout this pandemic. As the school year is coming to an end, my students are thrilled to go back to school in September to see their teachers and friends with a huge smile on their face!

Please help me celebrate all of my students' hard work by providing my class with exciting certificates and diplomas that will become a beautiful memory in Kindergarten!

These certificates will remind them of all the accomplishments and fun throughout their Kindergarten school year! We plan to have a virtual "Kindergarten Moving Up Ceremony" in June! How exciting!

In addition to the Kindergarten certificates, I hope to be able to give them the special "First Grade, Here I Come!" books as they start a new year of learning in the new school year! We will read this book in class as we get ready for the next grade!

The first grade workbooks will also help them review all the math and literacy concepts learned throughout Kindergarten. This will provide them with a bit of an "academic boost" before returning to school for 1st grade!

This year has really been a tough one for all of us. I am truly happy and inspired by their love of learning even though it has been virtual all year long. Thanks for your support!
