This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At our continuation high school, we serve students for whom the traditional school setting was not the right fit. Many of our students have faced significant challenges—both academically and personally—and are often the ones who fall through the cracks of the education system. Here, they find a second chance, and our mission is to ensure they receive a well-rounded education that includes not just academics, but also social-emotional learning and life skills essential for success beyond the classroom.

I am seeking your support in providing snacks and incentives that meet my students’ basic needs and encourage active participation in social-emotional learning activities, both in class and during school-wide events.

These resources help us create a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where students feel valued and motivated.

What makes our students remarkable is their resilience. Approximately 90% have experienced some form of trauma, yet they continue to show up each day, determined to overcome obstacles and work toward a better future. With your help, we can make their school experience not only meaningful but also rewarding.
