My Students

My students are brilliant, engaging, and hardworking 4th graders. I have the privilege of teaching these bright and interesting young people each day.

The goal in our classroom is for all students to learn while also seeing themselves as learners who are ready to take on new challenges.

Our classroom community is filled with students who are excited about learning. My school is located in a low-income area; 75% of my students qualify for free/reduced lunch. The neighborhood is a mixture of cultures, first and second-generation immigrants as well as students and families who have called it home for generations. It is an incredible group of families, students, teachers, and community partners.

My Project

As a new school year is about to begin, there are needs our classroom has in order to have a welcoming, encouraging environment that promotes and supports student success.

I strive to help students create a classroom environment where they feel supported, safe, and encouraged and these materials will help us accomplish that!

This project will provide the necessary items to organize our classroom environment (learning box for each child, file cart for student work, pencil boxes, morning activity organizer), art supplies to create a classroom that is designed by the students (construction paper, bright paper), incentives to encourage student success (mini erasers will go in the gum ball machine), and other more basic supplies (pencils, files) as the school year begins.
