Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Studies have demonstrated that reading in a foreign language can increase fluency, help readers acquire an understanding of the grammatical concepts of the language, and aid in vocabulary retention.
My goal is to continue to expand our classroom library by adding some of my students' favorite books.
In my last classroom library project, I researched and chose books that were popular amongst teens; however, this time, I was able to ask my students what some of their favorite books are or were growing up and what types of books they might be interested in reading. Based on their responses, I was able to come up with the comprehensive list of books below.
Below, you will find fiction and nonfiction books at a variety of different reading levels. There are comics, chapter books, mysteries and works of historical fiction. I also added a display stand so that students can easily find the books they are looking for.
