My Project
I want to encourage collaborative play among my special education preschool students, who often find it challenging to navigate environments away from their families. Many of these students come to us without developed language or social skills. By offering exciting, colorful toys and manipulatives, I can create an inviting atmosphere that motivates them to engage, communicate, and interact with their peers.
Dramatic play is an excellent way to encourage social interactions, as it allows children to engage with others in imaginative and cooperative scenarios.
STEM activities, on the other hand, foster problem-solving skills and critical thinking. Every classroom benefits from having a calming corner, providing a safe space for children to retreat to when they feel overwhelmed. These elements together create a balanced and supportive learning environment.
