Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
At the beginning of September, I will embark on a journey with a wonderful group of 5th-grade students and am eager to compile a collection of read-alouds for novel studies throughout the school year.
I find it vital that each student is able to hold their own copy of the book we will be engaging in.
Having physical copies of read-aloud books in every student's hands is essential for building strong literacy skills. It allows students to follow along with the text, strengthening word recognition, print awareness, and comprehension.
Physical books also create a shared reading experience, encouraging engagement, focus, and a deeper connection to the story. This hands-on interaction with books fosters a love of reading and helps develop lifelong readers.
