Encourage School Spirit and Positive Behavior With Personalized School T-Shirts

Help me give my students navy t-shirts and a student-safe t-shirt launcher to support our positive behavior (PBIS) initiatives.

My Project

My students come from a low-income/high-poverty area. Daily my students are faced with several challenges both inside and outside of the classroom. Our school is a safe place for them to learn and thrive. We have fallen in love with PBIS this past school year, but are in need of materials to ensure continued success. Daily I watch my students persevere despite their many life challenges. Coming to school is a safe haven for many. Our scholars have navigated the challenges of this year like rockstars! Despite all of the challenges due to COVID-19, they have worked exceptionally hard this year. Many scholars have met or exceeded grade-level goals!

To start the school year strong, our school will host a PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) assembly each month.

During this time, we will teach students how we will celebrate all of the successes and achievements our classrooms will make this year, and how we will recognize positive behaviors and good choices that scholars make. These assemblies are fun and high-energy, and we encourage student participation.

As part of this assembly, we would like to help 'hype' students up for learning about our positive behavior programs and school spirit. To do this, we would like to use a safe 'boomerang'-style launcher to launch personalized school spirit t-shirts into the audience. These t-shirts will be personalized with our school name and PBIS slogan. The variety of sizes in this project will help us reach all scholars. We will use an existing Cricut machine and vinyl to personalize the tees. If a student catches a t-shirt, it will be theirs to keep and wear on 'dress down days.'

We can't wait to celebrate our scholars' academic and behavioral successes!
