Enchanting STEAM: Bringing Harry Potter to Life

My Project

Imagine a classroom where students are not only reading about Harry Potter’s magical world but also bringing it to life through hands-on STEAM activities! My students are embarking on an exciting journey with J.K. Rowling’s "Harry Potter" series.

I want to enhance their learning experience by integrating engaging STEAM projects with each exciting chapter.

We will make "magic" slime using activator and house-colored glitter. This activity will teach students about chemical reactions and the states of matter while letting them express their creativity by designing their own Hogwarts house-themed slime.

Students will also put their engineering capabilities to the test with these LEGO models. Students will be assembling LEGO models of a Quidditch arena and Hedwig the owl. This will enhance their spatial reasoning, fine motor skills, and collaborative abilities, making connections between the magical sport and real-world engineering.

Lastly, students will use Perler beads to fuse art with geometry by creating Harry Potter characters. This will help them understand geometric concepts, symmetry, and patterning while expressing their artistic skills.
