Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I will be using the decodable readers in my small group to encourage engagement during reading. Most decodable readers have been reused from first grade and students have become bored with them. Once, students have become readers I will continue to engage them with Piggy and Gerald as well as with Biscuit books.
My goals are to encourage reading and have students grow a love and desire for reading.
My students are just learning to become independent readers, and are in search of fun engaging books to read, while working on their comprehension and fluency.
