Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a bay area school, located near the Mission district of San Francisco. Our school site serves a student population of that comes from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds and are predominantly English Language Learners. Yet with these challenges, our students come to school each day with a smile on their faces ready and eager to learn.

Creating a safe, engaging and fun environment for students to learn and grow is what I'd love to provide for my students.

I will be working with students who need additional support in both reading and writing. Our students are trusting that we hold their best interest. I currently have an empty canvas of a classroom that I'd love to furnish. I want my students to feel proud and excited about their learning space. We need to furnish this classroom with learning tables, learning rug area, chairs, shelfs and all the added elements that say..."Our students deserve the best".

My Project

The furniture for this classroom, such as the table and teacher chair, is only the beginning to making this empty room a joyful learning classroom. Student will use this table to engage in small group instruction which will support them in reading and writing. The intimate setting offers me a space to meet with multiple groups with various levels of reading and writing needs.

By donating to our project, not only will you help our students feel proud and special about their learning environment, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.

A positive environment is one in which students feel a sense of belonging, trust others, and feel encouraged to tackle challenges, take risks, and ask questions.
