This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The items I am requesting, such as various height stepping stones, a sensory resistance tunnel, and weighted balls, will significantly help my students with special needs improve their fine motor skills and sensory integration through engaging heavy work activities. Heavy work involves using our muscles to push, pull, or lift, which can help students feel calmer and more focused. For instance, using weighted balls and the sensory cuddle swing provides the necessary resistance, enabling students to manage their energy levels and concentrate better in the classroom. My main goals for this project are to enhance students' hand skills and support their ability to process sensory input effectively. Tools like soft squishy stress balls and agility rings will offer enjoyable ways for students to strengthen their muscles and improve coordination. These activities are especially beneficial for students with special needs, as they often require extra support to remain engaged and focused.
