This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Providing 24 large pizza pans and 36 9x13 cake pans with lids will greatly enhance the learning experience in my classroom kitchens. With six full kitchens and around 300 students throughout the school year, these materials will allow students to cook simultaneously in small groups, encouraging collaboration and giving each student a more active role in the process. Cooking projects like homemade pizzas and baked casseroles or desserts offer more than just a fun activity—they teach real-world math through measurements, science through reactions and heat, and social-emotional skills through cooperation and responsibility.

Currently, we don’t have enough pans to support group cooking in every kitchen, which limits our ability to run efficient and engaging lessons.

With these additional materials, every group will be able to participate without having to wait or share supplies between classes, keeping our kitchens organized and hygienic. The cake pans with lids are especially helpful for food storage and transporting student-made dishes, while the pizza pans allow for creative, culturally relevant meals that students enjoy making. These tools are essential to keeping the program hands-on, fun, and educational for all learners.
