This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our ELA classroom, every student's voice is important. Our students come from diverse backgrounds, including many English Language Learners (ELLs) and those striving to improve their literacy skills through programs like Lexia PowerUp.

Reliable headsets have become essential tools to help students focus during online testing and engage deeply with interactive educational programs tailored to their individual needs.

These materials are essential for supporting my students, many of whom are learning English as a second language. They are hardworking, creative, and eager to grow, but they often face unique challenges that require extra support. Headsets will empower them by breaking down barriers to language and literacy, giving them the tools to thrive academically and build confidence.

To ensure the headsets remain accessible and durable for long-term use, this project also includes supplies to help keep them organized and well-maintained. This will extend their lifespan and ensure they continue to benefit students for years to come.

Testing can be a stressful experience, but providing students with durable, noise-canceling headsets will allow them to concentrate and perform to their full potential. For my ELL students, headsets are vital for accessing immersive language programs that develop their listening and speaking skills. Programs like Lexia PowerUp will help students improve their literacy skills through differentiated instruction, offering personalized support that meets each learner where they are.

This project matters because it ensures students have the privacy and focus needed during important assessments. It also fosters a classroom environment where technology tools are accessible to all. Not every student has the resources to bring their own headsets, but by providing a class set, we can ensure every student has what they need to succeed and reach their goals.
