My Project
The purpose of this grant is to provide essential resources to support students who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems. An iPad will serve as a dedicated communication device for these students, enabling access to research-backed AAC apps such as Language Acquisition Through Motor Planning (LAMP), Touch Chat & Proloquo2Go. These applications are vital tools in developing communication skills, empowering nonverbal or minimally verbal students to effectively express their needs, thoughts, and emotions.
In addition, a gift card to Teacher Pay Teachers will be used to purchase supplemental AAC materials, including AAC Literacy Companions.
These resources often include visual supports, adapted books, and thematic units designed to integrate AAC into literacy instruction, fostering both communication and academic growth for AAC users. These tools will be instrumental in promoting students’ communication and participation across various settings.
