My Students
Technology is ubiquitous in our society, but this technology hasn't made it into our classrooms. Students need time to work independently at tasks and there are a tremendous number of resources are available through iPad apps that address all levels of Bloom's taxonomy, especially creativity.
Our school is over 900 extremely diverse students.
We have a very large ESL population with a wide variety of language levels and needs. Parents are supportive and eager to do what they can to help their children meet their potential. We offer before and after school tutoring and enrichment programs and work to integrate ourselves into the surrounding community.
My Project
These iPads will allow students time to work with engaging activities to support where they are instructionally. We will be able to EMPOWER STUDENTS THROUGH THE ARTS by using technology apps that address all levels of Bloom's taxonomy. Create, analyze, apply, remember, during the literacy block, but also across ALL content areas. Students can have strategic, targeted practice for skills tailored directly for their individual needs.
Publishing books, sketching pictures, recording and listening to books, all while using tactile, auditory, visual styles of learning - it's one stop shopping to fit the needs of each individual student.
After we present the instruction, students need time to practice and work independently. Ideally, we'll have 2 iPads for every classroom, but this will be a tremendous start.
