My Project

Empowering Students Through Standing Whiteboards

My students are an incredible group of thinkers, problem-solvers, and collaborators.

They bring curiosity, energy, and resilience into the classroom every day. What makes them truly special is their willingness to engage in challenges, work together, and push themselves to grow. They thrive when learning is interactive, and I strive to provide them with opportunities to think critically and work dynamically.

Standing whiteboards will make a significant difference in their learning by fostering movement, engagement, and collaboration. Research shows that when students are up and actively participating in problem-solving, their thinking becomes more visible, and they retain information better. With these whiteboards, students will work in teams, discuss strategies, and visually demonstrate their reasoning. This will enhance their ability to articulate ideas, refine their understanding, and build confidence in problem-solving.

My goal for this project is to create a **Building Thinking Classroom**, where students are at the center of their learning. These whiteboards will help shift the focus from passive learning to active exploration. Instead of simply taking notes at their desks, students will stand, write, erase, and revise their work in real time. This setup encourages collaboration, reduces math anxiety, and allows me to provide immediate feedback.

By incorporating standing whiteboards into our classroom, I aim to make learning more engaging, interactive, and student-driven. My students deserve an environment that supports their enthusiasm for learning, and these whiteboards will help unlock their full potential.
