My students need an iPod and speaker dock, a voice amplifier, scissors, wood vehicles, earphones, craft kits, filament, and other items to infuse art into core studies.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Art can turn a dull classroom into a place where children want to come every day, because they know they will have fun. Let's empower students through art!
Learning is enhanced when the arts are integrated with language, socials studies science, and other content areas.
My transitional kindergarten students love art.
It is their favorite part of the day. Weaving art and music into other content areas motivates them to do their best and excites them about what they are learning.
My kindergarten classroom consists of students from diverse cultures. Some are learning English and some are special needs students. Many come from families that live below the poverty level. They love coming to school. They think it is fun. Why? Because they experience art and music every day! We sing, we dance, we paint, we draw, we act out stories: art can be used to transform any subject into a dynamic lesson.
We are requesting many different items that will help us to incorporate art and music throughout our day. The iPod and speaker dock will be used to play music, including songs that teach letters, phonics, counting, science, history and other skills and subjects.
My Project
In this project, core subjects such as science, language and social studies will be brought to life as we create planting pots for sprouting seeds, and learn the importance of recycling by making reusable fabric shopping bags. We will create multi-cultural puppets as we learn about diversity. We will use little wood vehicles to create scenes with blocks when we study neighborhoods and transportation. When we study life cycles, we will brighten up the classroom with beautiful craft butterflies.
With new safety scissors, my students will be able to work independently creating collages, without the worry that they will cut something other than their paper. This independent creation center will also be stocked with easy punch shapes, to enhance creativity.
With new earphones, we will be able to listen to stories and music without disturbing others. The voice amplifier will increase attention because we will be able to hear our lessons and instructions in our noisy and busy classroom.
Your donation will empower students through art.
Art motivates, art stirs critical thinking and curiosity, art is memorable. Being creative, exploring with the colors and music, expressing what has been learned in core content studies: bringing art into the classroom makes sense and pays dividends in learning. Your donation will make a difference in my students' education. Thank you!
